Mysuru Dasara, also known as Nada Habba (State Festival of Karnataka), is India's most famous royal festival. Celebrated for over 400 years since the reign of Raja Wadiyar I (1610), the festival marks the victory of Goddess Chamundeshwari over the demon Mahishasura. During the 11-day celebration, Mysuru transforms into a vibrant cultural destination with illuminated streets, royal ceremonies, music, dance, exhibitions, air shows, and the world-famous Jamboo Savari procession.

🏰 Mysore Palace Illumination

The iconic Mysore Palace is illuminated with nearly 100,000 lights every evening during the festival, creating one of India's most spectacular night-time attractions. The city also lights up major roads and monuments throughout the celebrations.

🐘 Jamboo Savari

Date: 21 October 2026
🕑 Time: Afternoon (Official timing announced closer to the event)
📍 Route: Mysore Palace → Bannimantap

The grand Jamboo Savari is the highlight of Mysuru Dasara. A beautifully decorated elephant carries the Golden Howdah with the idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari through the city. The procession also features decorated tableaux, folk artists, marching bands, traditional dancers, horses, camels, and cultural performances representing Karnataka's rich heritage.

💰 Entry: 500 rs, 1000 rs, gold pass to visit inside palace, but free on roads to see.

🔥 Torchlight Parade

 Date: 21 October 2026
🕖 Time: Evening (After Jamboo Savari)
📍 Venue: Bannimantap Grounds

The festival concludes with the spectacular Torchlight Parade featuring horse-mounted displays, motorcycle stunt performances, ceremonial torch formations, military band performances, and a grand fireworks display.

✈️ Surya Kiran Air Show (2026)

📅 Dates: 18–20 October 2026  

📍 Venue: Bannimantap Grounds

Watch the Indian Air Force Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team perform breathtaking aerial formations, synchronized flying, colorful smoke trails, and precision aerobatics. This special event is expected to attract thousands of aviation enthusiasts. Better to be 2hrs early bec there will be huge crowd, also can we watched outside of the venue because air show is visible in 5 km radius of the Bannimantap Grounds.

🕖 Time:   Entry around 10:30am | Flying display starts at : 11:00am in the evening.

🚁 Drone Show

A spectacular theme-based drone show is planned as one of the new highlights of Mysuru Dasara 2026, adding a modern visual experience to the traditional celebrations.

🎭 Cultural Programs

Enjoy daily performances including classical music, folk dances, theatre, Yakshagana, and cultural shows by artists from Karnataka and across India. This year, cultural troupes from other Indian states will also participate.

🛍️ Dasara Exhibition

The Dasara Exhibition at Doddakere Maidan features shopping stalls, food courts, amusement rides, handicrafts, government pavilions, and family entertainment. It opens on 11 October 2026 and continues until 8 January 2027. This will be the best place for kids because there will be more than 20 types of fun games and shows to enjoy. Dont miss the magical musical fountain at 7pm at the center of the exhibition ground.

🍴 Food Festival

Taste authentic Karnataka cuisine along with dishes from different Indian states and selected international cuisines at the Dasara Food Festival.
There will be more than 150 food stalls in 2 acres of land, price ranging between 100 to 400 includes veg & non-veg stalls, completely separated between the ground.
Best time to visit 4pm to 8pm. Car parking will be 0.5Km from the venue, there will be 3k to 5k people in the ground in peak hours.
